Some mornings I actually get organised enough to go for a walk and I wanted to share some of the lovely scenery around our house.
This is the front door and it is looking lovely with the flowers providing a splash of colour against the dark brickwork wall.
Turning right you see the other houses in the row below us and then right again and past our house we have the open field, the trees are the most beautiful colours at the moment.
And then we walk past the back of our garden, this is where I see the pheasant walking and the squirrels playing in the trees.
The most incredible fungus growing on the one tree, it looks like a seat for a fairy or tree elf.
The sun was definitely out when I took the next two photos, cross the road and looking back at the fields behind the houses.
The path then meanders around the airforce base and when we get tired we head back home.
I have spent the last couple of days stitching bears and just had to show you the photographers assistant at work again. I didn't even have to get him to pose for this photo, I wasn't paying enough attention to him and he decided to move to somewhere where I couldn't ignore him.

This is Pumpkin, the new bear on ebay and my last Halloween bear of the year. I am busy working on an order for an Edwardian nurse bear and then I have a couple more shop orders to stitch but I have almost finished a new pattern bear, a lovely boy in dungarees which should be in our etsy shop by the weekend.

I have a new bear on eBay, Belladonna is dressed and ready for Halloween. It is funny how sometimes you make a bear that is just that little bit harder to sell, I love Belladonna's hat it worked out just as I had hoped.

Autumn has finally set in and we have had some really cold and rainy weather. The rain here is very gentle, you hardly notice it until you get stuck outside. So far we haven't had the violent downpours that I am used to from Cape Town but maybe that is still to come.
All the trees are losing their leaves but at the moment looking out the studio window the trees are shades from green to brown to russet, it looks so beautiful.
This is Sasha the photographers assistant, he just had to come and help when I was taking photos.

Short post today. Finally finished the bears for the store order and got them in the post. It is my favourite time of year and Halloween is just around the corner, so the first pumpkin is in the house.

I put the first Halloween bear of the year on eBay and am busy working on some new ones for the web page.

The weather is getting colder but the sun comes out for most of the day and the kitties love sitting on the windowsill in our workroom looking out at the squirrel in the trees and the brown dog in the garden.

I have lots of photos to show you this time. I love our house and just hope we can stay here for awhile. The front is very boring at the moment but we will soon have some flowers and plants to pretty it up.
This is the communal part of the property where people take their dogs for a walk and the children can play. Hopefully it will stay undeveloped for the time being.
The back garden from upstairs, also needs work but we will get it looking lovely. These houses where empty for about five or more years so nobody has done any work on the gardens.
The staircase, lovely design and the old bears have found the perfect vantage point.
In the village of Ramsey just down the road is an amazing old Abbey built in 900Ad or thereabouts, this is some of the remains.
The catholic church is a beautiful building, this is one of the side doors.
On one of the first sightseeing trips that we have taken we went to Ely to visit the Cathedral, an absolutely amazing building which we will have to go back to visit as you just can't take everything in on one visit.

I had to include photos of the kitties, they are settling in well. This is Mishka on the window sill,
and this is Sasha (the senior cat) looking beautiful. He is very camera shy and it took many photos before I got him to look directly at me.
The one and only plant in the back garden was a poor rose bush which Wendy rescued and it has had a late bloom just to show us how lovely the roses are.
A view through the trellis fence to the outside world.
Another view through the fence to the communal land again, it is like having your own private park on the doorstep, I have seen a pheasant running through here and there is a squirrel who is foraging for nuts and goes leaping among the trees.
The only real problem so far are the spiders, there are so many huge big things and tiny ones too. I am terrified of them and I think they know it and deliberately terrorise me. It is phenomenal how many there are here, I have spent a long time in Africa and never saw as many there as I have seen in three weeks here, dreadful.

Autumn seems to have finally found us and it has been a blustery (very windy) and grey looking day. The trees are all shades of brown and russet and the leaves are blowing everywhere. Amazing weather and so far we are coping and not feeling too cold.
