Hope is on eBay at the moment and she isn't dressed in pink, she just has a pink rose as a finishing detail. Please have a look if you have a minute.

On Sunday I flew from Stanstead Airport to Dinard in Brittany. I got to see the kitties again and just like typical cat behaviour it took them a few hours to condescend to acknowledge me.

Wendy and I left early on the Tuesday morning to start the drive to London. I have included a photo of some wind turbines about two hours from Calais, I love seeing them around the French countryside.
We were making good time when we pulled into the petrol station for our second stop and got waved down by an elderly lady. She and her husband where having car trouble and couldn't get their mobile phone to work to phone their insurance company to come and rescue them. It is a big problem when you don't speak the language of a country that you are in, makes me even more determined to learn French. We finally managed to get them the help they needed and then left them in a hurry as we now had to make up the lost time.

This is when you can appreciate driving on the motorways at 130 kms. We made up the lost time and got the train to Folkestone. Then it was just the drive up to London, which was uneventful except for the usual crazy amount of traffic.
Today we had to get the MOT on the car done and then we drive back to France on Saturday.

Where Bloggers Create Blog Party

Welcome to 'Where Bloggers Create Blog Party' and my small corner of the world.

I make miniature bears for a living and in my spare time I do all sorts of other crafts like cross stitch, embroidery, tatting and if I still have time I do some drawing.

I used to have a room just for my workroom and was very spoilt with all the space. Of course it was never tidy but I could always find things when I needed them.
When I moved to London I could only bring what would fit in my suitcase and it was with very sad hearts that Wendy (my Mom) and I put the rest in storage.

My work area is now the corner of my room but I think it is working well, everything is generally tidy, of course what you won't see in these photos is the stuff that got piled on the bed to make this look nice.

My computer desk doubles as my work table, my fabric is stored in boxes on the bookcase. My little chair is one that I found thrown out by someone else.

The stuffing for the bears is kept in the corner.
I have my favourite bears and other animals sitting watching me work.

The shelf above my computer is used for storage and a bit of an inspiration corner.
A couple of my bears waiting to be sent to new homes.
I hope you have enjoyed your visit and the look at my creative space. It is small but I have so much fun working here and it has shown me that you don't need a big amount of space to be creative.

I have made another pink bear, Cherish is on eBay at the moment for you to visit. And to remind myself that pink doesn't have to be the only colour to work in I have finished a very pretty little girl dressed in lavender.

I am off to France on Sunday, very excited I love going there and I get to see my parents and my kitties. Wendy has to bring the car back to the UK for its MOT and licence so I will be driving back with her, just to keep her company, no actual driving done by me.

I went for a second job interview this morning, it is down to the last few candidates and I will hopefully know soon whether I have the job or not.

Our other news is that it is coming up to moving time again. We need to find a new place to stay by end of August. The good news is that the kitties can finally get into the UK legally and that my sisters dog Max will be out of quarantine, so we can find somewhere to live together instead of trying to run two homes.
I can't believe how quickly the time goes, the first six month hurdle is nearly over and we can finally find somewhere to settle in and make a home and we can get our stuff out of storage.

Of course the timing is crazy, having to move again a week before the Hugglets Bear Fair, but our lives are never boring.

I am having a pink July. A whole month seems to be going to be devoted to the colour as I have made another pink dressed bear. I do love the colour and I am having fun and it looks so dainty and delicate.
If you can - please go and have a look at 'Belle' on eBay.

I had a couple of suggestions for a name for my pattern bear but I like the one that Ginie-Lee suggested, it suits her, so very soon I will have 'Floss' the bear pattern available for sale. Inspired by the fact that she looks like candyfloss.

I need a name!

I seem to have had a very boring few weeks, a nice breather from our usually hectic lives and have just been sitting home working on the bears and other stuff.

One thing that I have done is finish the first of my new patterns (and no comments from the back that it is about time) She is a lovely round little bear made from mohair and is 4 1/2" tall.

I need help with a name so if you can think of one please leave a comment.

I am starting to think about what bears to make for Hugglets and most probably should get started, especially when Wendy tells me that she has eight almost finished. Now I really have to get going and finish a few bears. One of the reasons that I am being a bit slow is that I finally joined Facebook, not a problem really except when you start playing Farm Town and get rather hooked.

Another long time span between posts, I really do wonder where the time goes to. I have another set of bears on eBay in one of my favourite colours. You can visit Elle-Rose and Pixie and please also look at Wendy's lovely little boy bear Tristan with his puppy.

I have been trying to stay indoors and out of the dreadful heat for the past week. One of the small reasons to leave South Africa was that I could not cope with the summer heat anymore and what happens, I think it has followed me. The weather here has been dreadful, it is so hot and don't even think of going on the underground because you get so hot down there that you feel as if you are being boiled.
I know I can't complain too much as I am used to far worse but this country is designed to keep you warm in winter and the houses are not kind to you in hot weather. Our room in the house share has one tiny window that opens and big panes of glass that have the sun shining in all day. Thank goodness for the ceiling fan in the room but I really miss the air con.

On Saturday I found myself down by the Embankment station and just had to take a photo of the London Eye. It was already so hot and the sun was so bright that the photo has rather a bleached out look to it. All the tourists are out in full force and especially along the Thames River you seem to spend more time dogging tour groups than doing anything else and who knows how many photos I am unwittingly in.
These are some photos I took awhile ago of our trip to Manor Park Cemetery. It is so peaceful there and the headstones are amazing dotted among the trees. Most of this part is from the 1890's to the 1910's so the area has started to be reclaimed by nature.

Wendy and I have been having fun doing some embroidery and beading and some of the things are now in our Etsy shop. I am busy working on some new bears, one order which just does not want to be finished and a couple of new patterns for sale. So hope fully I will have some new bears to show you soon.
